My First Custom Theme: Showcase & Feedback
Hey everyone! I’m excited to finally share something I’ve been working on. I’ve always wanted to personalize my workspace, and I’ve almost finished my very first customized theme. It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m really happy with how the final look turned out.
The Inspiration
I started by redesigning an existing theme like this [website] instead of building one from zero. Now, I’m finally creating my own theme from scratch. I’ve based most of the look and style on the Anime-Planet forums and ideas from other Blogspot developers.
Style & Formatting Examples
To give you a better idea of how the theme looks in action, here are the custom styles for different text elements:
Blockquote This is how quoted text or important highlights will appear in the theme.
- Pre-formatted Text
function helloWorld() { console.log("This is a pre block for fixed-width text."); } - Inline Code Use
code tagsto highlight specific variables or commands. - Marked Text You can highlight specific words to grab attention.
Alert Components
I’ve also styled specific alert boxes for different types of information:
Responsive Media & Lightbox

Comment Preview
Scroll down to the comment section to see the Admin Badge.
I also implemented a few advanced tricks to improve the comment section’s functionality and personalization:
- The Delete button is only visible to the Admin or the original author of the comment. If someone comments anonymously, the button remains hidden
- Instead of the standard "This comment was deleted by the author," I’ve personalized the text. Now, it dynamically displays the author's actual name.
- I also swapped out the generic "Comment deleted by blog administrator".
Conclusion
I’m still looking for ways to improve, so I’d love to hear what you think! If you have any suggestions for features I should add or styles I should tweak, please let me know.
Also, if you like any the feature here and want me to make a tutorial on how I did it, just comment down below and I’ll get started on a guide for you!
